I’ve made an openModeller Mac application installer based on the code in Subversion Head (i.e. a non stable version of the code). Despite the aforementioned disclaimer, we keep the library in a fairly stable state always and it should be fine for some basic testing. It would be great if you could test the installer and let me know how it works for you. The installer is rather large since it...

Here is a nice tip to get your OS X terminal prompt a bit more colourful and useful (by using less space and standing out from stdout more). Just add this to your ~/.bash_profile

export EDITOR=vim
export PATH=$PATH:/usr/local/graphviz/bin/

I planted a palm (would have planted more but my pick handle broke :-( ), made an anti-leaf filter for the water system, made a bread board and did a bunch of mooching around.
I’ve been slowly moving over to programming using TDD (test driven development) and am starting to realise first hand the benifits. Aside from makeing your code more robust because its well tested, I also find that:
- its great having tests as they provide useful snippets of code you can recycle, and they form good tutorials.
- It really speeds development up! Before my typical routine...
